Why does D-Lab eye tracking require such a powerful computer?

D-Lab performs several functions in real time, such as pupil detection for both eyes, marker detection the scene camera image, visualization of the videos as well as recording these videos on to the hard drive. Therefore it is important to have a powerful workstation in order to enable effective data visualization and recording.
