Can I use any Notebook for D-Lab3?
Last update: 27. March 2023
One of the benefits of D-Lab3 is that we record all data in raw format. This enables you to go back to any history study and do a recalibration, change AOIs or even the algorithm of the pupil detection. As a flipside our Eye Trackers generate a high volume of data and for Dikablis Professional we need a full spec USB3 port to make sure the bandwidth is high enough. Also the power of the Notebook needs to be quite high.
Until know, the only certified Recording Laptops for D-Lab 3 are the DELL Precision 4800 or the DELL Precision 7510. The specifications of this Laptop are the following:
Dell Precision M4800 OS: Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit RAM: 8GB (2x4GB) 1600MHz DDR3 Graphics Card: NVIDIA Quadro K2100M 2GB GDDR3 Hard Drive: 2.5-inch SATA-hard drive 750 GB @ 7,200 RPM or SSD (preferred) Wireless Network Connection: Intel™ Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 Minicard (802.11 a/b/g/n 3×3, half height) CPU: Intel™ Core i7
Dell Precision 7510 OS: Windows 10 64-Bit RAM: 8GB (1x8GB) 1600MHz Grafik: NVIDIA Quadro M1000M (2GB GDDR5) Hard Drive: 2.5-inch SATA-hard drive min. 750 GB or SSD (preferred) Wifi: Intel Wireless 8260 (802.11ac) + Bluetooth 4.1 CPU: Intel® Core i7-6920HQ
Other hardware might work but is not recommended and function is not guaranteed.
